If you’re working from home, you will need to use at least one dedicated telephone line just to keep in touch with the office. Here are some tips about phones.

A
You must have a separate phone line just to deal with unwanted callers who call during
         your work day.

B
Determine with your manager how many phone lines you will need. You will probably be
making and receiving telephone calls and using a phone line for faxes or other communication.
But that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll need three phone lines.

C
If possible, have your calls forwarded from your office so that your telecommuting will appear
transparent. If that’s not possible, check for messages regularly and return calls promptly.

D
Carry a pager or cell phone if you’re going to be away from your office phone and want your
manager and co-workers to feel assured that you are accessible. Be sure that those key
         contacts have your mobile number.
