If you’re working from home, you will need to use at least one
dedicated telephone line just to keep in touch with the office. Here are
some tips about phones.
Click
on the box in front of the inaccurate tip and then click on the answer
button to see if you chose correctly.
A You
must have a separate phone line just to deal with unwanted callers who
call during
your work day.
B Determine
with your manager how many phone lines you will need. You will probably
be
making and receiving
telephone calls and using a phone line for faxes or other communication.
But
that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll need three phone lines.
C If
possible, have your calls forwarded from your office so that
your telecommuting will
appear
transparent. If that’s not possible, check for messages
regularly and return calls
promptly.
D Carry
a pager or cell phone if you’re going to be away from your office phone and want your
manager and co-workers to feel
assured that you are accessible. Be sure that those key
contacts have your
mobile number.
